I used to loathe reading…

And then I figured out I just didn’t like reading about Piggy, Ralph, Lennie, and George. Although I refuse to discredit the value I place in grade-school literature, a rebellious, talking pig just didn’t seem to do it for me at the time.

Enter: A different kind of 'words on paper’. Although self-help has got a bad rep, I’ll go into Barnes and Noble and purchase these bad boys with a wide smile and a lick of confidence. Why? Because I see myself become more motivated and aspirational with each page flip. So much so that I’ve been impelled to create my own page on my own website dedicated to just how much these personal development books have done for me as a person.

When you get the gist of the type of media I consume, you get a gist of who I currently am and who I’m aiming to be. And for whatever reason, these books made me appreciate reading about rebellious, talking pigs.
